The Lincoln Theatre Company Junior Choristers is a group of young people ages 9 to 17 from Lincoln and the surrounding region. Participation in this program is open to anyone age 9 to 17 who is able to sing on pitch and interested in having a great time. Rehearsals are currently held on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Lincoln Hills Community Church located at 950 E. Joiner Parkway, Lincoln. Performances are scheduled for May 19, 20, 21.
The first 30-45 minutes, the youth will be taught the mechanics of voice by Peggy Schechter, current musical director at Lincoln Theatre Company. They will learn the proper way to sing and receive techniques that build a strong core for a healthy voice.
This session the theme is DISNEY. They will be singing many fun familiar Disney songs that they will likely know. They will also sing along with the adult choristers with some of the songs in this concert. Eric Rainwater is the director and will be teaching the music for this program. He and his wife Candy Rainwater are a husband and wife team of musicians well known in the greater Sacramento area for their musical abilities. They lead children and youth choruses, vocal and instrumental music workshops, musical productions and teach private lessons.
Auditions for this group are held on an individual basis by Eric Rainwater. You can contact Peggy Schechter at Peggy@lincolntheatrecompany.org if you have any questions or wish to join this group or call (916) 409-7030.
Fee for this group is $100 for 3 months of group voice instruction by Peggy Schechter and participation in this wonderful Jr. Chorus.
